Mr. Costa has more than 45 years of geophysics experience.

He coordinated a great variety of geophysics projects applied to civil engineering, mining, environment, underground water, and geological maps during his career.

The founding of AFC Geofisica, a company that specialized in geophysical surveys, ratifies his leadership in this field. While leading the company, he developed innovative techniques to investigate deep underground sites using electric methods, especially the induced polarization method applied to mineral exploration.

His activities encompass the full range of geophysics projects such as data acquisition, validation of data and processes, processing, and interpretation.

Simultaneously, he dedicated himself to an academic career as a researcher and professor of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), one of the most prestigious universities in Brazil.

Lately, he has been surveying tailing dams and other mining structures, using mainly electric and seismic methods.

Also, he is performing geophysics consulting jobs for companies worldwide.
