Mr. Marques has more than 40 years of experience in hydrological physical modeling, water resources management, and hydraulic engineering. He developed and supervised various projects such as determining cost valuation of repairs in dam’s spillways and dissipation basins, installing hydrological stations, and testing physical models in drainage channels.

In addition, he worked as a technical adviser for many consultant companies providing specialized guidance for the installation of pumping stations, assessment of expected spillage flow in case of the dam rupture, determination of dam storage capacity when confronted with water consumption, and many projects related with hydraulic works.

Also, he has a long academic career as a professor of hydraulic structures, pumping stations, hydroelectric development, hydraulic physical models, and inspection and safety of dams. As a faculty member, he supervised many undergraduates, graduates, and Ph.D. students. Furthermore, he has more than 245 articles published and participated in many research and development projects as coordinator or collaborator in areas such as a study of concrete for hydraulic surfaces, macro turbulence in structures, energy dissipation, hydrodynamic efforts in hydraulic structures, energy and hydraulic efficiency, and inspection and safety of dams.
