Campos Novos Dam
Campos Novos is a hydroelectrical power plant on the Canoas river in the south of Brazil. The dam has 202m of height and an extension of 651m with an impervious concrete slab downstream and an articulation structure (plinto) set in the foundations. The region's geology comprises a volcanic acid sequence rock, most of it with a vitreous texture prone to quick alteration into layers of expansive clay.
