Geologist Roberto Brandes Saraiva has over 40 years of experience in prospecting and mining geology.

As a geologist at the BGRM – French Geological Survey, he worked intensively prospecting for diamonds in the Amazon rainforest region.

He successfully carried out an academic career at the Federal University of Santa Catarina – Brazil teaching the subject of Geology. He specialized in Stratigraphy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, emphasizing coal petrography.

He worked as a geologist at CRM – Companhia Riograndense de Mineração, working in field geology, researching a large part of the mineral coal deposits in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. In addition, he carried out mappings in CRM's concession areas, in Lavras do Sul. He also assumed the position of Mineral Research Manager at CRM and Superintendent of Mina do Leão.

He also holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from PUC – the Pontificial Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, where he specialized in Environmental Law.
